Stable Canvas: A New AI Art Interface for Exploration
How User Experiences with AI can continue to be improved for artists, creatives, and innovators
Today we’re finally sharing Stable Canvas. This is an AI tool we’ve been working on that explores improving the User Experience of using AI generation on creative projects.
Take a look:
Stable Canvas solves a yet unaddressed problem creatives face when using AI tooling: Iterating Asynchronously
Traditional tools require you to scroll back up a continuously growing series of ideas and posts. With AI images, you often need to look through multiple generations of image creation, selection, and enhancements. A single “feed” of information just doesn’t cut it.
Professionals need a suite that caters to them and their need to iterate. You need to be able to zoom out and cross-pollinate multiple ideas. Having multiple threads going is natural. It’s human.
Inspiration often comes from taking a break. Great ideas are recorded on Bar Napkins, not because of some magical property of the napkin. Those ideas come up because you are in a bar and away from a problem.
The creative brain shouldn’t be shackled to a single space. Inspiration arises from taking a break from any problem, playing with another idea, and returning to the problem later.
Stable Canvas is a step towards humanizing the chat interface into a workflow tool that professionals might actually want to use.
